Glory and Sacha, two “loners” (soldiers who have no family in Israel) of Russian origin are expeditely convicted for stealing arms and selling them to terrorists. The two boys are considered as traitors and are maltreated by both their cellmates and the jailers. Glory, the tougher of the two, tries to protect his buddy Sacha who cannot take the situation any more and starts a mutiny, claiming a fair trial… A story of loyalty and friendship, based on true events, “The Loners” is Renen Schorr’s first feature after 20 years of silence following his great success: “Summer Holiday Blues”.

Amos lives alone with his schizophrenic teenage son, whom he refuses to intern in the psychiatry ward - he knows only too well how they treat their patients there. One day, Amos brings home a Thai young woman, an illegal alien called Bena. Amos hopes to find some “normality” through this female presence, but things do not work out as he expected… This is Niv’s first feature, following his short film “Mister Kurtzweil is dead”, screened in the “Cinema du monde” section in Cannes 2006. “Bena” was screened in the city-to-city section in Toronto 2009 and Karlovy Vary 2010.
